TIPS:
Use a texturing hammer or the Cuttlebug to create your own embossed blanks. - Texture with the Cuttlebug
STEP by STEPS
Step 1: Create your mini pendants.
A: Use a polishing cloth or fine grit steel wool to relief and highlight the raised pattern of 10 embossed cobblestone pendants.
B: Position your chosen fastenables flowers and leaves over the pendants. Use a black sharpie marker to pre-mark your holes.
C. To create your holes, use a 1.25mm hole punch pliers or the silver handle of a metal 2-hole screw-down punch. (If you used the 1.25mm hole punch pliers use a beading awl to slightly enlarge the holes).
D. String a washer and fastenable onto a ¼” nail head rivet and place those pieces through the hole of your pendant.
E. While holding all of the pieces together, carefully turn over the pendant and place onto your steel block. (Be sure a rubber block or sandbag is placed underneath your steel block to absorb the shock and some of the noise when hammering).
*View our Rivet & Texture Step by Step Technique Video for detailed instructions.
Step 2: Create flower drops.
A: String a 4mm satin olivine crystal and lilac purple Lucite flower onto a 1” head pin. Bend the wire up along the back side of the flower bead. Use round nose pliers to create a double wrapped loop. Repeat 4 times for a total of 5 drops.
B: String a 4mm satin olivine crystal and peridot green Lucite flower onto a 1” head pin. Bend the wire up along the back side of the flower bead. Use round nose pliers to create a double wrapped loop. Repeat 2 times for a total of 3 drops.
C. String a 4mm satin amethyst crystal and dark amethyst purple Lucite flower onto a 1” head pin. Bend the wire up along the back side of the flower bead. Use round nose pliers to create a double wrapped loop. Repeat 2 times for a total of 3 drops.
Step 3: Attach components.
A: Use chain nose pliers to separate sections of chain. You’ll need five 1” sections (5 links each), four 7/8” (4 links each) and four 6” sections. Set aside.
B: Attach and secure a 4.75mm jump ring to all of your pendants. Attach and secure a 4.75mm jump ring to the rounded open link end of chain on your 1” and 7/8” sections. Attach and secure two 4.75mm jump rings on the loop end of the 7/8” (4 link) chain sections.
C: Connect the five pendants you prefer on the bottom of your design to the round open link ends of 1” chain sections using a 9.5mm etched jump ring. Use a 4.75mm jump ring to attach the looped link end of 1” chain sections to the jump ring on back side of remaining five pendants you prefer on the top of your design.
D: Use 4.75mm jump rings to attach your large flower drops two chain links above the bottom pendants. Use 9.5mm etched jump rings to string your small flower drops and attach the 7/8” chain sections. Mirror the direction of the chain sections from the center drops.
E. Attach 4.75mm jump rings through the round open link of 6” chain sections and secure to the etched jump rings at the ends of your design. Attach and secure 4.75mm jump rings to bring together both strands on each side of necklace. Use one more jump ring to attach the connected chain strands to the ends of the hammered ring clasp set.
Your necklace is complete, Enjoy!
