Inspired by our January 2014 "Steampunk Chronicles" Theme.

To achieve a color washed transparent look with patinas, mix 1 part patina color with 2 to 3 parts glaze, as seen here in our, Vintaj Patina & Glaze: Colorwash technique video.

For this effect I didn't apply a base coat to the watch face, I simply just applied the patina & glaze colorwash. After allowing it to dry for a minute or two, I then lightly sanded it with a Metal Reliefing Block to create a weathered & distressed finish.
